Occupational Therapy

Our Occupational Therapy support helps you create impactful changes by collaborating with stakeholders.

Our occupational Therapy support helps children through adults develop the skills they need to participate fully in daily life activities at home, school, work, and in the community. For children, this may include building fine motor skills, sensory processing, or self-care abilities. At the same time, for adults, it often focuses on regaining independence, managing health conditions, or adapting to life changes. Through personalised, goal-directed support, Occupational Therapy

empowers individuals of all ages to thrive in their everyday lives.

Our Occupational Therapists conduct Functional Capacity Assessments (FCA) by identifying both strengths and challenges, assessing how physical, cognitive, and emotional factors affect individuals’ daily functioning, and determining the necessary supports or interventions to improve independence, quality of life, and community participation. For NDIS participants, FCA is crucial for informing NDIS funding, developing personalized care plans, and providing evidence for support services.

Our Occupational Therapists help individuals regain, improve, or maintain independence by teaching them how to perform essential daily tasks, such as dressing, bathing, cooking, and managing a home.

Our Occupational Therapists (OTs) are crucial for Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA), Supported Independent Living (SIL), and Individualised Living Options (ILO) (SDA/SIL/ILO) by conducting home and living assessments to determine eligibility and support needs for these NDIS-funded housing arrangements. OTs assess functional abilities, recommend necessary home modifications, and collaborate with participants to help them achieve their housing goals by providing person-centred support and recommendations for the most suitable living option.

Our Occupational Therapists help individuals improve emotional regulation by teaching personalised coping strategies, identifying triggers, developing self-awareness, and modifying environments and routines. They use a holistic approach that can include sensory integration, cognitive-behavioural strategies, social skills training, and mindfulness to help people better manage their emotions and improve overall well-being and participation in daily activities.

A sensory assessment by our Occupational Therapists evaluates an individual’s responses to sensory input (like touch, sound, or movement) to understand how these responses affect daily life, behaviour, and participation. Using a combination of standardised questionnaires, clinical observations, and interviews, our therapists identify sensory strengths and challenges to develop tailored strategies, interventions, and environmental modifications that support the individual’s ability to function and engage in their everyday activities.

Our Occupational Therapists help you develop social communication skills by assessing needs, providing direct instruction on conversational strategies such as turn-taking and understanding nonverbal cues, and using evidence-based techniques like role-playing and social stories to improve social interaction and relationships. We aim to enhance your social participation by building your capacity at different settings (school, workplace and in the community).

Our Occupational Therapists support education and employment by helping individuals, particularly children, develop the necessary daily life, self-care, fine motor, and sensory skills to participate in school and work. They achieve this through assessment, intervention planning, environmental adaptations, equipment provision, and collaboration with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure students can participate in meaningful occupations and overcome functional barriers.
