Speech Pathology

Our speech pathology support helps you create impactful changes by collaborating with stakeholders.

Our Speech Pathology services are designed with a people-oriented approach, where every individual’s needs, strengths, and goals are at the centre of care. We are committed to evidence-based practice, ensuring that every strategy and program we use is grounded in research and proven results. Our therapists work with children as young as two years old through to adults, supporting communication, language, speech, voice, and swallowing needs across all life stages.

Whether it’s helping a child find their first words, supporting a teenager’s social communication, or assisting adults in regaining skills, we create goal-driven, personalised plans that empower confidence and independence.

Speech sound is how we produce sounds in words, while articulation is the physical act of producing those sounds using the mouth, tongue, and lips. Articulation errors, or difficulty with speech sound production, can lead to being unclear or unintelligible. In contrast, phonological errors involve the systematic patterns of sound mistakes that make it hard to understand a child. Our experienced Speech Pathologists can help with both issues, aiming to support children in hearing and forming sounds correctly.

Literacy is the ability to read and write effectively, while pre-literacy skills are the foundational abilities learned in early childhood that prepare a child for reading and writing. Our Speech Pathologists help young children to develop their pre-literacy skills and narrative skills (telling stories) in preparation for their early school years. Our therapists help older school-aged students to develop their literacy skills for reading and writing to achieve academic success.

Our Speech Pathologists help children with feeding difficulties by conducting detailed assessments of motor, sensory, and behavioural factors, then providing individualised therapy plans.

You or your little one stutters when getting excited? Our Speech Pathologists can help children or adults who stutter by assessing their communication difficulties, developing individualised treatment plans, and implementing evidence-based interventions to improve speech fluency and reduce the negative impacts of stuttering. They also work to increase communication skills and empower clients to manage their stuttering in various social, educational, and vocational settings.

Some older adults or people with disability may experience difficulties related to drinking, eating, and swallowing. Our Speech pathologists can help with assessment and develop individualised mealtime management plans, which may include modified diets and liquids, exercises to strengthen oral and throat muscles, and techniques to improve swallow safety and efficiency.

Our Speech Pathologists evaluate a person’s skills, environment, and goals to find the best-fit solution, which often involves trialling different devices and access methods, such as touch, eye-gaze, or switches. The intervention includes assessing communication needs, selecting and customisation appropriate AAC systems—ranging from simple picture boards to complex electronic devices—and providing training and ongoing support to users and their carers to help individuals achieve their communication goals.

Our Speech Pathologists help you develop social communication skills by assessing needs, providing direct instruction on conversational strategies such as turn-taking and understanding nonverbal cues, and using evidence-based techniques like role-playing and social stories to improve social interaction and relationships. We aim to enhance your social participation by building your capacity at different settings (school, workplace and in the community).

Our Speech Pathologists enhance employment and education by directly treating communication, language, and swallowing disorders through assessments and interventions, while also collaborating with educators to develop inclusive strategies, provide training, and advocate for students’ needs. In educational settings, we support curriculum access, foster classroom participation, and advise teachers on managing complex learning needs. In employment, we also help individuals improve their communication skills, often vital for professional success, and can facilitate the use of assistive technologies to overcome communication barriers.
